If you have grown up watching Popeye like I have, then at some point or the other your parents would have tried to convince you that the only way you could become strong like Popeye was by eating spinach. Fast forward some 15 odd years and you don't need anyone to tell you that the Spinach, is one vegetable that deserves to be a regular addition in your diet. To make this dish simply fry a couple of onions along with some crushed garlic and dried red chillies. Once the onions are soft add the spinach and salt. Cook with lid closed until done. This version of Spinach Sabzi can be eaten with roti, rice and even dosas. The possible health benefits of consuming spinach include improving blood glucose control in people with diabetes, lowering the risk of cancer, and improving bone health, as well as supplying minerals and vitamins like vitamins A, C and K, magnesium, iron and manganese that can provide a range of different benefits.
