Mor Kuzhambu is a popular South Indian dish made using slightly sour yogurt and coconut, and is similar to the North Indian Dahi ki kadhi. It traditionally includes vegetables like okra, winter melon, colocasia etc. Today I used white pumpkin. It is best eaten with steaming hot rice. Since it comprises mostly of curds, coconut and spices it is quite healthy. Curds are rich in calcium and probiotics which aid digestion and fresh coconut has saturated fats but most of it is MCT (Medium Chain Triglycerides) which promote weight loss. White pumpkin is rich in Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Potassium etc. Pumpkin is considered weight loss friendly since it is low on calories while being dense in nutrients. The North Indian version Dahi ki Kadhi is made by combining curds with gram flour.
