We all know that greens are good for us, so let’s check out what makes Methi (Fenugreek) a valuable addition to our meals. One of the most unique aspects of fenugreek is that it is very useful in any form be it powdered, seeds, dried leaves (kasuri methi) and as a vegetable. Apart from improving your skin and hair Methi has many health benefits as well. Nutritionally speaking, fenugreek is rich in fibre, protein, iron, manganese and magnesium. One cup of Methi Leaves is only 13 calories making it a good choice for those wanting to reduce their calorie intake. It also helps to reduce bad cholesterol (LDL) and aids in controlling and preventing Type II Diabetes. Nursing mothers can also use Fenugreek Herbal Tea to stimulate breast milk production. So it’s no surprise that Methi is such a popular ingredient in our cuisine.
