One of the most popular dishes of Italian cuisine is the Lasagne (pronounced Lazanya). Made using Lasagna Leaves which are a type of wide flat pasta, this one pot meal is prepared by alternating layers of pasta with a tomato and béchamel sauce, topped with cheese and then baked in the oven. The best part about Lasagne is that it can easily be made more nutritious and healthy by adding proteins and vegetables like spinach, zucchini and red pepper.
